Malleable es un performance que cuestiona la manera en que la mente humana construye la realidad y la facilidad con la que esta puede ser moldeada, intervenida y manipulada. A través de la hipnosis como herramienta central, la pieza expone cómo ciertas ideas se implantan, se normalizan y se convierten en marcos desde los cuales percibimos y actuamos en el mundo.
Durante la acción, dos voluntaries alcanzan un estado profundo de hipnosis, conscientes pero completamente sugestionables, y son colocades en distintos escenarios construidos mediante analogías. En ellos, se introducen ideas relacionadas con la religión, la sexualidad y la identidad: un foco como figura de deidad, pasteles como metáfora del deseo y la prohibición, entre otros elementos simbólicos.
La pieza no busca representar estas estructuras de forma literal, sino evidenciar, en tiempo real, lo fácil que resulta para la mente aceptar una realidad construida cuando esta se presenta bajo reglas claras y repetidas. Malleable propone así una observación directa sobre los mecanismos de creencia, control y percepción que operan tanto a nivel individual como colectivo.

For example, Volunteer One is implanted with an idea and a belief and Volunteer Two is implanted with the complete contrary of that idea: this narrative reflects the daily confrontation between our personal process and its confrontation with the world.
During each scenario certain symbols, sounds and key words trigger each volunteer to act according to their belief, generating tension, dialogue, and confrontation.
Videos of the performance were taken as a record and as research for the next step of the hypothesis.
Malleable is a performance that questions the ways in which the human mind constructs reality and how easily it can be shaped, altered, and manipulated. Using hypnosis as its central tool, the piece exposes how certain ideas are implanted, normalized, and transformed into the frameworks through which we perceive and act in the world.
During the performance, two volunteers reach a deep hypnotic state—fully conscious yet highly suggestible—and are placed within different scenarios built through analogies. These scenarios introduce ideas related to religion, sexuality, and identity: a light bulb functioning as a deity, cakes as metaphors for desire and prohibition, among other symbolic elements.
Rather than representing these structures literally, the piece reveals, in real time, how easily the mind can accept a constructed reality when it is presented through clear and repeated rules. Malleable offers a direct observation of the mechanisms of belief, control, and perception that operate on both individual and collective levels.
